21 FEB 2020 MTU AERO ENGINES' commercial maintenance activity has seen its revenue declined from EUR2,799.8 million to EUR2,711.4 million in 2019, "impacted by changes in the ordering and billing process for V2500 maintenance services". In organic terms, MRO revenue improved by 7%, mostly driven by V2500 and CF34 engines.
21 FEB 2020 LUFTHANSA TECHNIK has announced that it is now using a new, faster and more environmentally conscious process to maintain aircraft fire extinguishers at its Hamburg component shop. A test facility for this work was dedicated recently and put into regular service. The new process primarily reduces environmental risks while also significantly cutting turnaround times. It enables the fire extinguishing agent to remain in the pressure bottle throughout the entire inspection, a change that eliminates the complex handling of the chemical.
21 FEB 2020 ST ENGINEERING announced that Total Engine Asset Management (TEAM), an engine leasing joint venture of its Aerospace arm, has entered into agreements for the sale of 30 engines using a securitisation structure. The transaction comprises aircraft engines that power primarily narrowbody aircraft leased to 13 airlines across 11 countries, with a weighted average remaining lease term of about 6 years.
19 FEB 2020 SAS Scandinavian Airlines has prematurely extended its existing component support contract with LUFTHANSA TECHNIK and added further services. The new TCS (Total Component Support) agreement runs until December 2026 and now covers the airline's entire Boeing and Airbus fleet, including the new A350s (one aircraft delivered of eight on order). In addition, LHT will provide Airframe Related Components (ARC) services for the Boeing and Airbus fleets including LEAP-1A nacelle support (A320neo family).
19 FEB 2020 AJW GROUP has purchased an Airbus A319 (MSN 2186) aircraft for teardown. This ex-Air Malta aircraft which is 15 years old, is powered by CFMI CFM56-5B6/P engines and is equiped by an APS3200 Auxiliary Power Unit.
