Sabena technics has just received EASA STC approval after installing a Honeywell JetWave antenna on an Airbus wide body aircraft. The client has not been announced.
The dorsal antenna is compatible with Inmarsat's GX Aviation (Global Express) Ka band connectivity.
Lionel Bacquey, Program Manager at Sabena technics, says that the full modification kit was delivered in under 8 months. The equipment was installed at the client's operational base within three weeks.
The French maintenance company also indicated that an A330 would also be modified with this type of antenna during the second quarter of the year.
