Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Avionics Network Architect (f/m) to join our Avionics Products Development department based in Toulouse, France. 

You will join a team of ~15 people based in Toulouse, within Avionics & Simulation Domain that is Airbus avionics equipment internal supplier but also the expertise center (so-called 'Chamber of Reference') for this perimeter.

The actual context is the development of several brand new computers based on product lines strategy (i.e. using hardware & software bricks) while supporting existing avionics products and also preparing the future avionic products (targeting disruptive computers);

Along with the development and the preparation of the future, we also establish new Ways of Working in order to adjust them to new technologies and/or to be more efficient.

Your challenges: 

Within this exciting and challenging context, you will play a key role in:

The definition/selection of the network at system level;

The development & implementation of new system communication buses / new system messaging principles in line with the network definition/capability (e.g. incl. end system and switches);

The support of legacy system communication buses;

Regarding network at system level, you will contribute to its definition/selection in close collaboration with the Design Office's system designers.

You will also steer collaboration with academic partners in order to demonstrate network performances and resilience to failures.

New system communication buses / new system messaging principle are AFDX & Ethernet based. In this frame, your main objective is to secure their determinism and to define the way to efficiently use it through the following activities:

Defining (*) the strategy / the plan (involving internal & external partners) to prove their determinism;

Defining (*) the messaging principles/mechanisms (dedicated to functions using the new communication buses);

Following their maturity throughout the development and contribute to related V&V definition activities;

Contributing to safety analysis and demonstration for certification;

Actively defining new buses roadmap

In the frame of the ?Chamber of Reference', auditing technical solution upon Design Office requests

Legacy communication buses are Ethernet, A429, RS485, CAN, MIL-STD-1553 based (for the main ones). In this frame, your main objectives is to support them though the following activities:

Following in-service behaviour of legacy buses;

Lead in-service legacy buses problem analysis;

Lead trade-off dedicated to define/choose best solution to improve their in-service behaviour and/or to solve encountered problems;

Contribute to the legacy buses roadmap definition;

(*) Definition has to be made by challenging - if required - the needs with regards to complexity, cost and delay

Profil recherché

Your boarding pass:

Strong experiences in some legacy communication buses;

Strong experience in ethernet or ideally AFDX technology;

Good understanding/knowledge of aeronautical stakes e.g. Safety, reliability, value for customers and certification standards (e.g. ARP4754, ARP5761, DO178, DO254, DO160, .?);

Modeling skills

Good analysis / synthesis skills;

Good communication, negotiation & lead skills - you will have to interface with  lot of stakeholders

A negotiation level of French and English is required.

Salary range:

Salary range based on the required profile: 55 to 65K?/year (including a variable part based on your performance). Information provided as an indication.
