Social distancing : HAECO Cabin Solutions launches four stowage solutions to combine freight and passengers in aircraft main cabin

HAECO Cabin Solutions, a North Carolina subsidiary of Hong Kong MRO Group HAECO, has just unveiled four certifiable solutions to transport cargo package in the main passenger cabin.
These solutions, which were developed from concept to offerable in less than a month, obviously make it possible to meet the growing demand for air freight in these times of coronavirus pandemic, but they also come to respond to the problem of social distancing of passengers, thus optimizing the cabin's capacities by making it possible to combine passengers and freight while respecting the weight and balance constraints.
These four solutions are based on the use of the existing fastening system for passenger seats and therefore do not require specific tools for their installation. They will be certified via a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and HAECO Cabin Solutions announces that they can be delivered in four to six weeks.
The first solution is a pallet base that can support 1000 pounds (454 kg), the second is an all-in-one seat frame that can support 500 pounds (227 kg) and the third and fourth solutions consist of storage systems placed on the seat row or at floor level and each can support up to 240 pounds (109 kg). These options give airlines specific load authorisations and the capability of carrying larger items in the cabin that otherwise would have been stored in the aircraft's belly, except for hazardous materials.

The equipment supplier specifies that these different solutions are adaptable to both single and twin aisle aircraft and can be combined to achieve an ideal operational payload.
