AFI KLM E&M has signed a long-term flying hour support contract with Vietnam Airlines. The contract covers the GEnxs of the airline's 787 fleet - which will number nineteen planes next year - and runs for a period of twelve years. The Vietnamese airline will be entrusting the servicing of these engines to the Franco-Dutch company and will have access to spare engines.
"Thanks to our previous successful collaboration in equipment support for Vietnam Airlines's 787-8s and the first quick turn workshop inspections on the GEnx, we have every confidence in AFI KLM E&M's ability to guarantee smooth operation for our Boeing 787-9s and our fleet in general", said Duong Tri Thanh, the CEO of Vietnam Airlines.
