At the beginning of March, Russia's S7 Airlines completed its "pilot project to develop predictive maintenance system for the Airbus A319 aircraft fleet". This was done in cooperation with the Toulouse-based software developer DATADVANCE (former Airbus subsidiary with a strong presence in Russia) and with the help of the S7 Technics maintenance company. The two partners have therefore developed their own data analysis and predictive modelling application, based on the use of machine learning.
This test has apparently been a success and S7 Airlines wants to equip most of its twenty A319s from this year on. Nevertheless the airline states that it is still working to develop the system with the integration of real-time data downloading the the design of the definitive user interface.
