Grease streamlining, another major asset of NYCO's growth

NYCO's reputation in the aviation lubricant sector speaks for itself. The only non-American player in the market, for several years now the French company has been targeting commercial aviation with its synthetic turbine oil, Turbonycoil® 600, after long experience gained meeting France's defence requirements.

But of course NYCO's civil aviation activities are not only about turbine oils, indeed the European aviation lubricant specialist also offers various multi-purpose solutions for commercial plane maintenance, such as Nyco Grease® GN148.

"We realised that airlines use a lot of different and very specific greases on their aircraft, for example for landing gears, flights commands or actuators. We've developed this multi-purpose grease which meets almost all of airlines' operational requirements", underlines Pedro Dasi, Head of Sales for civil aviation at NYCO.

This enables the company to reduce the number of references for operators when it comes to purchasing and logistics and also lets them provide economies of scale, as airlines can then buy a larger quantity of a single product.

Even better, grease streamlining also has an environmental benefit: stocks are optimised and enable small container waste to be reduced for each specific application. "We propose more durable technical solutions, allowing to extend maintenance intervals and therefore optimising plane maintenance task management", he explains.

"By listening to our customers we have developed solutions which cover certain operational issues such as the phenomenon of corrosion on certain equipment", he adds. Pedro Dasi also told us that the multi-purpose grease, Nyco Grease® GN148, has been qualified by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer and ATR, which enables airlines with mixed fleets to generate major economies of scale.

He concludes "in addition to synthetic turbine oil, thanks to our close relationship with airlines we have been able to develop greases and hydraulic fluids which enable NYCO to stand out more on the market ".
