AAR and BAE Systems strengthen their cooperation in the regional jet market

The cooperation between AAR and BAE Systems Regional Aircraft on regional jet components is picking up speed. On 9th October, the American MRO company announced that it had signed a contract extension with the British group's subsidiary to extend its repair and overhaul services capability to a larger number of references. The initial agreement had come into force in January 2019, while the extension was signed in September.
These services cover the regional aircraft of BAE Systems (or rather of the manufacturers whom it replaced) which have left production and which are not maintained by BAE Systems Regional Aircraft. In principle, only the jets - i.e. the BAE 146s and Avro RJs - are concerned and not the Jetstream 31/32/41, HS 748 or ATP turboprops. The component repair and overhaul services are provided by AAR in its specialist facilities in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
The two companies had already signed a similar contract in 2005 for repairable BAE 146 and Avro RJ components. The exact duration of this multi-year agreement had not been disclosed.
