EME Aero (Engine Maintenance Europe) has announced that it has completed a first series of shop visits on Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM engines (A320neo familly). Since January, when the first engine arrived in line with Pratt & Whitney's low pressure turbine (LPT) retrofit program, a total of 21 GTFs were successfully delivered back to different customers.

The joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and MTU Aero Engines established in Poland was officially integrated to the GTF MRO network in the second quarter.

The work on the first fifteen GTF engines consisted of implementing Pratt & Whitney's low pressure turbine (LPT) retrofit program and allowed EME Aero to gradually start its activities. The other six were regular customer engine shop visits.

EME Aero therefore considers itself ready for the ramp-up of its operations. Company employees are trained to carry out full repairs on the PW1100G-JMs and the induction of the first PW1500G (A220) is expected in mid-2021.
