AFI KLM E&M is active in cabin modifications

While Aircraft Interiors Exhibition and MRO Americas were being held at the same time this year, AFI KLM E&M took the opportunity to communicate about cabins. The Franco-Dutch group announced the signature of a contract on 9th April for cabin modifications for three Boeing 777-300s for leasing company AerCap. On the same day, it announced that its American subsidiary Barfield would now be marketing its AirInt'Software cabin maintenance optimisation solution.

For the three 777-300s, this is a reconfiguration and redesign before delivery to a new airline. Work is scheduled to start on the first aircraft next October. AFI KLM E&M is announcing that it has put in place a specific procurement chain for Business seats on these three 777s to reduce the time needed to launch and carry out the work.

In particular, the new cabins will include the RAVE on-board entertainment system from Zodiac Aerospace, a first for a Boeing aircraft.

As for AirInt'Software, this is a solution which has been developed by the AirInt' Services start up in the context of AFI KLM E&M's MRO Lab. Based on a mobile app, it "enables technicians to inspect, collect and report cabin data in just three clicks", according to the Franco-Dutch MRO. To help them with their tasks, the technicians have a 3D model of the cabin on which they can mark the faults they encounter directly. Then, also on the app, they have access to the technical documentation for each component highlighted.

AirInt'Software is completed by an online inspection report solution for fleet managers to strengthen aircraft monitoring and build up a detailed history of all the interventions carried out. AFI KLM E&M feels that "the app improvements management of the activity in terms of traceability, stock management and root cause identification".
