On 9th March, the US Air Force awarded URS Federal Technical Services (AECOM group) a 961 million dollar contract for maintenance and operations support for its MALE and HALE MQ-1, MQ-9 and RQ-4 UAVs.
It was awarded following a selection process with two other competitors. Under this contract, the American engineering company will carry out organizational-level maintenance activities for the three types of drone and their launch and recovery systems and will provide support to pilots and sensor operators for the MQ-1s and MQ-9s.
The work will be carried out at tasked locations worldwide until 30th June 2019.
