Pratt & Whitney made two announcements about its EngineWise data analytics platform at Singapore Airshow 2018.
The first, made on Feb. 5, focuses on the integration of V2500 engines on the Airbus A321, in favor of a new Supplementary Type Certificate (STC). The engine manufacturer will thus be able to install its eFAST flight data acquisition, storage and transmission system on the A321s - thus creating a "data ecosystem" - and from there developing services to their customers.
This integration movement is expected to continue, said Eva Azoulay, vice president, Engine Services at Pratt & Whitney: "We look forward to applying these new capabilities on other platforms."
"Digital helps us be more predictive, more mobile and more responsive in support of our customers and will continue be a major focus for us in 2018 and beyond" she added.
Meanwhile, the engine manufacturer continues to sell its service on aircraft that are already eligible. On 6 February he signed a contract with Turkish Airlines. It covers 92 A321neo - powered with PW1100G engines - ordered by the Turkish company, for 15 years.
