HAECO Hong Kong's mechanics will be using less paper documentation. The Swire group's MRO company has just added a tablet mobile app provided by the American company Ultramain Systems.
Named ULTRAMAIN® Mobile Mechanic(TM), this solution is intended for the light maintenance operations carried out at Chek Lap Kok airport in Hong Kong and for the requirements of Cathay Pacific in particular.
According to HAECO, the app will be used by its technical personnel to access electronic task cards, receive job assignments, create non-routine task cards as well as sign off task cards electronically through mobile devices. Customer airlines can also monitor the progress of maintenance operations in real time.
The application was used first of all on maintenance for Cathay's 777-300 fleet, but will also be extended to its A330s in the first half of 2018.
Each year, HAECO Hong Kong's light maintenance team manages handles over 1,000 light maintenance checks (planned maintenance inputs) for Cathay Pacific. The implementation of the application will help save 640,000 sheets of paper per year.
