Jordan is becoming a service centre for T53 engine repairs. Jordanian Aeronautical Systems Company (JAC) has obtained authorisation to carry out MRO operations on Honeywell's T53 engines. This turboshaft engine is known for powering helicopters likes the UH-1H Huey, Huey II, AH-1H Cobra, Bell 205 and K-MAX.
Thanks to this agreement, JAC is now the leading T53 service centre for the Middle East and Africa regions. The MRO company will have the capacity to propose its repair and maintenance services to civilian and military T53 operators.
Marshall Jordan, a joint enterprise between Marshall Aerospace and the Royal Jordanian Air Force founded in 2000, became a separate entity of the RJAF in 2003 and was re-named Jordanian Aeronautical System Company, specialising in C-130 maintenance.
JAC also acquired maintenance agreement for 737-200s up to C-Check in 2006, for 737-300/400/500s in 2009 and AW139s in 2012.
