Congo Airways has chosen AFI KLM E&M with C-Checks for the two A320s that the airline operates on domestic routes. The major maintenance inspections will be carried out at the Aerotechnic Industries (ATI) facility at Mohamed V International Airport, Casablanca, the joint entity which is owned equally by AFI KLM E&M and Royal Air Maroc.
Congo Airways, the young national airline of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) now has four aircraft: the two A320s (ex-Alitalia), one Bombardier Q400 and one 737-800 leased from Ethiopian.
Désiré Balazire Bantu, the President of Congo Airways, declared in a press release that "he very competitive positioning of the AFI KLM E&M tender was a decisive factor in our choice". He added that the airline is growing quickly and will soon be adding a third A320.
"We more than ever need to be able to rely on an MRO partner with acknowledged expertise at international level", he added.
