AKKA Technologies group was recently entrusted via its Aeroconseil aviation subsidiary with the cabin refit for seventeen Embraer E170s by GECAS.
The regional aircraft have just been given back to General Electric's leasing company following their rental contract and will soon be operated by the Russian S7 Airlines. AKKA Technologies will be converting the planes' bi-class cabin (60 seats in economy class and 9 in business class) into a new, 78-seat single-class cabin.
The Embraer 170s that currently exist in single-class configuration currently have 76 seats. AKKA Technologies specified that the cabins will be reconfigured in record time of 3 months and that the planes' capacity will be increased without reducing the space available to each passenger.
Le Journal de l'Aviation will provide more details on Aeroconseil's E-Jet refit activity in the next few days.
