Europrop International GmbH (EPI) is announcing that it has won the contract to support the TP400s engines powering Malaysia's A400M military aircraft. The In-Service Support (ISS) agreement was signed with the Malaysian government on 27th March at Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) in Langkawi.
This agreement follows the signature of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 21st March between EPI and Global Turbine Asia, a joint venture with Safran, which provides maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for helicopter and airplane engines. GTA will become the prime contractor for the services agreement from next October.
According to the press release, GTA and EPI "will provide a local support services" at Subang facility, where the Airbus Defence & Space military transport aircraft are based. The Royal Malaysian Air Force's latest A400M was accepted last March.
