On 17 March, the five Pilatus PC-6s belonging to ALAT (French Army Light Aviation) celebrated 30,000 hours of flying time. A ceremony took place at the maintenance site of Icarius Aerotechnics in Tallard, near Gap in the Hautes-Alpes.
The SME landed the MWO deal for the ALAT Pilatus in 2002.
It deploys staff to sites in mainland France as well as to external theatres of operations, such as the one in Mali, where two PC-6s are currently stationed as part of the Barkhane mission. There the planes run material transport missions and can also operate parachute drops.
