Safran Nacelles optimizes its customer services and coordinates its MRO network. The division of the Safran group has announced the creation of a centre of excellence specialising in the maintenance, repair and servicing of the nacelles that it produces, whether these are to be fitted in business aircraft or commercial aircraft. It will be located on its Pont-Audemer site in Normandy, France.
The Centre of Excellence will cover all nacelle equipment, from the components of complex structures to engine recovery blades, and will be able to perform operations under the wing. All of its activities have been EASA Part 145 certified. In addition, it will coordinate the entire MRO and R&T network of Safran Nacelles, dictating the industrial maintenance processes based on those of the site's production factories.
Safran Nacelles thus hopes to improve its responsiveness and optimize its resources to provide the best service to its customers. But it also intends to use this centre of competence to strengthen its position as an OEM, particularly on the Airbus A320neo.
Jean-Hugues Cousin is now at its head. He will manage the Pont-Audemer Centre but will also be in charge of the MRO Subsidiaries of Safran Nacelles worldwide, such as Safran Nacelles Services Americas (Indianapolis) and AMES (Aerostructures Middle East Services), its joint venture with AFI KLM E&M in Dubai.
