St Barth Commuter, the only airline company based at Saint Barthélemy Airport (French West Indies), has just been granted FAR 145 certification for its maintenance division. This contract was obtained within the scope of bilateral agreements signed by European and American authorities.
St Barth Commuter, which already had EASA Part 145 approval, will now also be able to carry out maintenance operations on Cessna C208 Caravans registered with an N-number.
Today the French company fully guarantees the maintenance of its fleet of four Cessna 208Bs, after wanting to carry out the maintenance on its own aircraft since 1994. It also has a continuing airworthiness management organisation (CAMO) certified EASA Part M/G + privilege I.
The regional airline of Saint-Barthélemy explains that 11 of its 30 employees are involved in the maintenance and airworthiness management of its fleet.
Last year, St Barth Commuter operated over 9,000 flights and carried more than 42,000 passengers.
