MTU Maintenance has announced that German cargo airline Aerologic has just renewed its engine maintenance contract for a period of twelve years.

This exclusive contract covers all GE90-110B1L engines powering its fleet and includes in particular several elements of its "PerformPlus" offer such as engine trend monitoring, fleet management, on-site support and the supply of spare engines.

The cargo airline based at Leipzig/Halle international airport operates today with fifteen Boeing 777 Freighters. This joint venture, owned equally by DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo, is known for its dual operations, flying on working days for the Deutsche Post subsidiary and on weekends for Lufthansa's needs.

The MRO activity of the German engine manufacturer clarified that maintenance works will be carried out in its engine shop in Hanover (more than a hundred GE90s already serviced). MTU Maintenance carried out more than 1,000 shop visits worldwide last year, mainly for V2500s and CFM56s.
