Gulf Air announces three new contracts in France for its fleet

Gulf Air took advantage of the official visit to France by the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Issa Al Khalifa to announce three new contracts with French companies.
The first relates to Thales which will be providing its Ka band connectivity solution with Immarsat's GX (Global Xpress) constellation for its Boeing 787-9s and A321LRs (A321neo). The Kingdom of Bahrain's flag carrier had already selected the French electronics specialist in 2016 to equip all of its new aircraft with the AVANT in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
Gulf Air is gradually replacing its entire fleet with 10 Boeing 787-9s (6 already delivered), 12 A320neos (2 already delivered) and 17 A321neos (including 9 A321LRs, all deliverable from next year).
Gulf Air has also extended its service contracts with AFI KLM E&M by entrusting it with the APU support for its Boeing 787-9s. The APS5000 auxiliary power units (Pratt & Whitney) will be repaired by its EPCOR dedicated subsidiary and will be accompanied by the PROGNOS for APU predictive maintenance solution. Bahrain's national airline had already entrusted EPCOR with support for the APUs on its A330-200s in 2015.
Finally, Gulf Air will be equipping all its Dreamliners and re-engined narrow body aircraft with Michelin tyres.
