The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has chosen Airbus Helicopters' HCare support solution for its future fleet of H135 helicopters.

The American space agency will indeed receive very soon its three H135s to replace the venerable UH-1H (two helicopters expected in the coming days, the last one next year). They will be based at at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida.

"Our customers' success lies in their ability to ensure aircraft are ready to take off the second they need them, and our HCare support solutions provide the guarantee that we have taken care of everything to ensure their full fleet availability," said Anthony Baker, vice president of Customer Support and Services at Airbus Helicopters, Inc. "Our entire team is extremely proud to support the future of space exploration by providing both new helicopters and full support services to NASA."

The support contract selected by NASA is of the HCare Infinite type (with commitment on full-availability) for an initial period of two years, but with the possibility of extending it up to 10 years.

The contract is estimated to be worth USD 15 million.
