EFW (Elbe Flugzeugwerke) has just delivered a new Airbus A330P2F (Passenger to Freighter) to DHL Express.

The recently converted aircraft in Dresden, an A330-300 (MSN 777, Trent 700) which flew under the colors of China Eastern for 12 years, has for the first time an increased mass (HGW) which will allow it to transport more than 62 tonnes of payload, 3 tonnes more than for the first A330-300P2F delivered to DHL in 2017.

Delivered to China Eastern in 2006, this A330-300 can have an MTOW of 233 tonnes.

The Airbus and ST Engineering joint venture says that two more A330-300P2Fs will be delivered to DHL this year, followed by up to 12 more in the coming years.

The A330-300P2F is an aircraft optimized for express freight, a specialty of integrators like DHL who need more volume, the A330-200P2F being more suitable for high density loads over longer distances.
