The first third-party customer aircraft covered by Airbus' and Etihad Airways Engineering's joint A380 MRO Services offering in Abu Dhabi is getting ready to undergo a C-Check.

This aircraft, A380 MSN 72 belonging to German airline Lufthansa, arrived at the end of October in Etihad's heavy maintenance facility before an initial inspection phase. The heavy check (6 years) which includes major structural inspections and incorporation of the mandatory Service Bulletins, is supported by an onsite Airbus technical advisory team.

This joint services collaboration between Airbus and Etihad Airways Engineering was launched last year. It materializes Etihad Airways Engineering's recently announced membership to "Airbus MRO Alliance" (AMA).
